The Watercooler --Work Related Talk

SO..

As most of you already know, that I have recently started a new job, and am just about done with the last week of training.
Things just keep looking on the up and up! Mandatory Overtime! WOO??? I have to work an extra 10 hours a week. Just starting.
First thought in my head was... CAR . and it gradually faded to an. I love the idea of getting more money for getting my car. But I know I'm not getting out much... which is depressing. Focusing on work for the last 3 weeks and taking in a LOT of training has been extreamly taxing on my mush for brains.

*note: should be rocking out right now in the orbit room in GR. But I'm broke. also depressing, but priority's have to take hold.*

It could be a lot worse.

Just get through it and keep that car in mind.

Hey, at least be thankful you have a job. A lot of people can't say that today.

And at least its in something you are interested in. Do you think I want to have people yell at me because they dropped their phone in the lake and its CLEARLY my fault so I have to replace it for free all day?

I'm going to know how you feel. I'm going to be talking to people too! *gasps* Must refrain from swearing, man is that going to be difficult.

My main gripes?
- Having a quota on how many cell phones I have to sell in a quarter (even though I'm not a sales rep)
- Dealing with people's billing issues
- Dealing with escalations
- Dealing with stupidity
- When I meet a goal, I get told what the next one is, instead of getting to celebrate

I'm doing outsource work for Comcast cable myself. Anybody a customer? You might have spoken to me at some point!

I sell video games and get about 8 hours a week.

So yeah.

I have the shit job.

Oh, and I get paid minimum wage.

Im trying to get into 3rd shift produce. Sure, it's late at night (which I've done before), and it'd be full time.

I have been told that my job is awesome despite bad hours and pay.

So fine.

My job kicks ass.

Well today was a nice day.. by nice i mean my brain exploded! oh nos! First day of "Real" Training begins!

First there Command Line & Keyboard, Then there was GUI & Mouse, quickly followed by Stylist and Pad. After some time Command line hooked up with GUI and gave birth to browser. Browser was a rebel without a clue and hated GUI for all of the inconsistencies they had. So Browser went looking for their perfect mate, but ended up on the wrong side of town and ended up sleeping with Pad. Stylist was very jealous and found a drawer to bury himself in, and hasn't been heard from since 2005. Though Pad really missed Stylist, he found the next best thing in his new life long companion, Finger. Mouse eventually decided that it hated GUI, but kept him around because it made him look good. Command line was never the same again. Keyboard had a heart attack when he met pad which could do everything he could do and better. In summary. You thought your family was screwed up? just wait until you meet the children of x64 and 32bit. They are going to be UGLY! Ooh, here look they come now, Vista and 7. The Younger one is always favored, just you watch! But deep down they all feared that one day. Voice and Touch would unite in a harmonious bliss of self-contentment that would just ignite incest between them and they would all become obsolete within 3 years, After voice Touch finally learns to listen to voice.


Please don't ask me where this came from. Somewhere in some geeky recess of my mind. And I'm really freaking tired. I write funny things when I'm tired.
