On a normal battle thread, The DM will be posting the general setting, blah blah blah. Okay, so you've rolled initiative. Now what? Let's demonstrate. Anolja is up next.

The battle grid of the current situation is as follows:

Anolja, having dispatched the first kobold, targets the remaining one. Holding onto her sword for a moment, it starts to reverberate with sound. Finally, she unleashes the blade, swinging it quickly towards the creature, as the unmistakable crash of thunder erupts from the weapon.

Now lets take a look at what happened here.

Anolja started out by giving her attack some flair. Much nicer than "Attack vs. Kobold", don't you think?

She then added in what each action she was doing was.

Free
Minor
Standard
Move

Are all ones you can use to organize what you are doing on your turn, both so that its easier for the DM to see whats going on, and also so you know if you have used your turn to its fullest potential.

Anolja selected a 20-sided dice to initiate her attack to see if she would hit the Kobold or not with her Booming Blade attack. Where do you do this? ONLY when you are actually adding a reply does this show up, but if you go to Add Reply at the top of bottom of the page you are adding it to, you will see directly below the Previre and Send buttons a drop down called "Dice Rolls". If its condensed it'll look like this: (Click for Screenshot), and you'll need to click on that really lonely looking plus sign all the way to the right of the Dice Rolls bar to expand it into this view: (Click for Awesome Screenshot)

I know, expanded made it sound like it would be more impressive then it really is. We'll call that the Viagra effect. Sounds amazing, but is really quite disappointing I'm sure.

Anyways, now that you've found that, all you have to do is select the type of dice you need to roll. What's really nice is you can choose to roll any combination of dice and however many you need to, so like if you get to roll damage for 4d6 + 1d4 you can actually SELECT that amount instead of rolling individually! Lets see what THAT would look like, shall we?

Select the dice combination you need (click the plus sign to add a new type of die, and if you accidentally click it and didn't mean to, select the black or "-" option to pretend you never did. We won't know!

Once you've made your selection, click Send!

Who the hell is this Dice Roller fella? He's a bot, kinda. What he does is spits out what you rolled for us all to see in a separate post. Why separate, you ask? As general members we won't be able to edit anyone else's replies except our own. Having Mr. Dice Roller makes it so that people can't cheat by editing their post and changing their rolls in their favor. Brilliant, isn't it?

Remember, the option for rolling dice will only show up on a NEW post. No editing, and not on new topics. So remember to select it the first time you want to, otherwise you'll have to make another new post just to roll.

Anyways, back to Anolja. Did she hit the kobold? I'm banking on no. So let's say that the DM pops in and says simply

"Miss"

PSH! So much for elaboration! I guess he was leaving for work but didn't want to leave you hanging. So now what?

The sheer amount of vibration from the sword throws Anolja's blade off course, and she misses the kobold, almost falling over in the process.

End of Turn (or EOT).

Way to go, Anolja. Way to miss a kobold.

So anyways, Anolja decides to add in flair to the end of her turn, which is awesome. I guess that makes up for her crappy roll. In any event, it is very important that she adds in that final phrase or the acronym for it

End of Turn (also can use EOT)

This signifies in battle that you're turn is now over. Let's say she had rolled a hitting strike. Anolja would have had to roll damage as well. It is important that we say when our turn is over so that the next person can go, and things don't get all sloppy.
