In case you needed further incentive to write a back story...

Backgrounds for extra player stats is something that has been a part of Forgotten Realms for a while, and was mentioned in the PHB2 as well. I think its awesome, especially since its not something I've ever had used in any game I've played.

SO

We're going to have a background incentive.

Write up your back stories, and not only will you be rewarded with XP (50 to 200!), I will also be granting you something (a feat, language, or bonus) that makes sense for your character.

I will try to keep it as evenly matched as possible so that no character can suddenly speak Draconic while another can get natural 20s on an 18 or anything like that, but if you don't agree with what you've received, let me know and I'm sure we can work it out.

I will not be accepting requests initially, however so please do not start PMing me about what feat you think best fits your character, especially because I might invent something new just for you!

I want a +5 broadsword that is also a battle mount!

what if it was a transformer? A triple changer! Goes from mechanical horse, to sword, to robot companion!

... on second thought, I'll just sell this idea to Hasbro or Takara-Tomy in Japan... *runs off*
