Power Corrupts, Absolute Power.. Corrupts Absolutely

A small clan of kobolds had been given the orders to investigate a cavern on their northern border of their village. The Village elder, Sho Sho, had sent 4 mighty kobolds, and a weakling barely capable of some of the minor tasks that was asked of him. But where kobolds in the village mistook him for meager and helpless, he was the most gifted out of them all, he just didn't know it yet. The 4 stronger kobolds always sent him in first into a room, hoping he would fall into a chasm or fall and break his scrawny little neck. A small earthquake began to rumble, the 4 were looking around wondering what was going on. But Koraph didn't notice anything out of the ordinary besides some leaky rocks in the ceiling. The 4 kept calling out to him, but he couldn't hear them. His eyes were fixed upon a smooth glass orb that was lit up from within with swirling blue and purple lines of energy contained within the orb, but it had a black hue all around it. He kept approaching it, wanting to know what it was, his Curiosity was insatiable. He took a few more steps toward the orb, and the ground underneath him begun to crack. He looked down at it, and the ground fell away, but he was still standing? Koraph took another step closer, and looked back down at the ground and it was whole again. He decided to make a break for it, and ran at full speed toward the ledge with the orb. He looked deeply into it, and saw his reflection but his eye were now purple instead of a golden yellow. He put his scaly little kobold paws around the orb, and felt the power surge through him, and blacked out. He awoke a few moments later to find the 4 other kobolds that went with him fighting over the orb that Koraph had found. He quickly jumped into the skirmish and ripped it out of their hands. He stood up looking right at them, and held the orb high over his head fixed upon the 4 others. He gazed deeply at them. The ground underneath them had opened up, and they begun to plummet deep within the chasm. He slipped the orb back into his tattered clothing, he then saw 4 kobold bodies lying in blood with broken limbs and twisted necks. He was excited not only for what he had found, but for what he can now do. He can show everybody that he is no longer weak and helpless, and he would start with the elder himself, Sho Sho.

What started as a display for attention, ended up in madness. Koraph returned to the village with his new-found power, and presented the orb in front of the elder. The elder saw Koraph transform into an giant dragon before his very eyes. He quickly got down on his knees and started to bow before him, and handed over his robes to Koraph. Koraph took the robes and put them on, and put the orb away. The elder was in shock and asked him how this could be? They have always expected they were descendants of dragons, but how he became one at will wanted the elder to know his secret so they could finally impose their rightful heritage upon all other creatures. Koraph told him to wait, and he walked over and sat in Sho Sho's throne of stone. He looked at him and said, "No, My heritage, my power, my world for the shaping" The elder was furious, and shouted for the guards outside of the hut, and then heard nothing but a loud screaming. Swarms of insects started devouring everybody in the village. "This is MAD Koraph!" the elder spoke. Koraph just looked back at him and said, "Time to Scream". The insects started to come and devour the elder. Koraph put away the orb, and there was nothing but bones littering the village. He had no words for what he had done. He was stricken with sadness, he didn't want it to come to this. But he started laughing and screeching at the same time he was crying. This is how he became to be known as

Koraph, The Mad


Koraph left the village taking all things of worth with him, and set out on an adventure to discover all of what he could do. Many weeks within to his journey he had encountered a strange animal which he would normally kill and eat on sight. It was a chicken. Not a normal chicken but a blue feathered chicken. It told him to take to the river, there you will find me in the form of a fish. He took off running into the open grassy area, toward the flowing stream. Koraph quickly followed. But there was no longer chicken, there was a purple scaled fish flopping on the shore, and then flopped into the stream. He took off light a bolt of lightning through the water, and Koraph followed until he caught up with it. It leaped out of the water into the sky and transformed back into a blue feathered chicken, flapping its wings to stay in the air. The Chicken said to him. "You are going to do great things, great, terrible things upon the world, not because you want to, but because they deserve it. Use your own judgment on to what those things are. When you meet me again. You will have achieved the destruction of a infestation, and they will not blame you. They won't even know your there. Follow the stream." The chicken disappeared, but the river was flowing of a strange blue and purple die.
