01. Finding the Sword

Gyrax shakes the gnoll's hand with gusto. Eyeing the krenshar, she flashes an embarrassed smile and follows the beastie.

Silk also speeds up his pace to catch up with the creature.

The kobold was fiddling with his orb, making sure it didn't have any cracks in it. He glanced up and saw everybody was gone.

"WAIT FOR MEEEE!" he clamored and repeatedly screeched as he scurried along the floor dragging his tail behind him trying to catch up to them, following their shadows upon the wall. "WAIT FOR MEEE!" as he catches up to them and catches his breath "I'm following you... wait why was I following you? Oh yes, to meet the leader of this establishment." He take a glance over a Gyrax, and his head shifted suddenly in a spasm of sorts, as if it was trying to turn 360 degrees clockwise. He playfully hopped slowly ahead of them as though he was chasing something muttering to himself. "Come here! I'm gonna catch you! I'm going to eat you pretty little chicken!" occasionally diving in front of the others as though he had caught or trying to catch something.

Noticing that everyone was finally coming, the krenshar begins walking again, and disappears into the large building in front of you.

Gyrax cocked her head at the kobold. "Is he referring to me? Because I'm not THAT pretty." she says with a blush and a giggle. She follows the krenshar to the building. Remembering her manners, she takes off her helmet before going in. To be fair, she actually is kinda pretty, if you're the sort to appreciate the big pointy nose, slight overbite, spaced-out eyes and shrunken chin.

"Are you coming, snack, or will you be chasing the... chicken for the rest of the day? Yehehehe!" Silk follows the harpy into the building.

He looks up at Silk, then looks back at the chicken. then looks at silk, then back at the chicken. The chicken is also heading into the building, which he follows while still trying to catch what other cannot perceive.

Before the three can take more than a few steps into the building, two krenshar greet them. They hiss and snarl, not allowing you to move past.

Gyrax's giddy air-headed demeanor switches back to fiery-eyed paladin in the blink of an eye. Huge shield drawn and sword at the ready, she hisses back at the pair. With her helmet off, her feathery crest poofs up threateningly.

"Be your intentions noble, your complaints valid, your grievances heartfelt, your pursuit commendable and your actions justifiable, for this combat is but an audition, and it will be the Gods in the end who will pick the winner! I shall live up to their expectations... OR MAKE DAMN SURE YOU DO!"


Her wings slink out from under the protective covering of her leather cape, spreading wide. The combined effect is to make her look larger and more threatening, while at the same time 'shielding' her companions.

ooc Heh! I was aiming to make that scene funny by making it overblown and dramatic, but I may have missed the mark.

Silk calmly vanishes into Gyrax's shadow, and steps out behind the Krenshars, brandishing his claws. "I am getting rather sick of being threatened today." He growled, obviously losing his patience.

"Easy, now, all of you." Out of the shadows stepped a larger lizardman. As he enters, the animals retreat to his side, guarded but not aggressive. He looks over the odd trio carefully, scrutinizing them with narrowed eyes. He huffs air through his nose. "Why have you come to this place?" he asks, finally.

The silence of the trio angers him. "What, you come traipsing into our guild and my home, and now you have nothing to say to explain yourselves?!" He bares his teeth a little.

"Oh, I do apologize." Silk grins his dangerous smile. "I'm just not used to taking a lizardman seriously. I'm sure that's about to change. Yehehehe!" He performs such a perfect bow it's almost mocking. "The name is Silk. I wish to use your resources to kill a man. Seems to think he's king of the world! Yehehehe!"

He snorts. "As you see in the square, this guild is for artisans, not assassins. What makes you think we would be able to assist you?"

The gnoll looks pointedly at the two krenshar. "Yes, I'm sure it is. I'm sure all of my information is false." He gets another wicked grin. "I wish to join your artisan club then. I mostly work with reds but I've been told that my work is quite lovely before the guards clean it up."

Gyrax looks rather disappointed as she must sheath her sword anew, but her chipperness is quick to return. She grins toothily at the Lizardfolk, and offers a bow as he and Silk chat.

The Kobold is humbled in the presence of a Lizardman. He quickly drops to his knees, and begins chanting something in draconic (Oh how it's a pleasure to be in the presence of another of the dragon kind! I bring my skills and talents are certainly worthy of your stature. I shall make the unworthy believe in my true power!, Glory to the Kin! Glory to the Kin! The Kin of Dragon!)

**Note. His village believed dragons and kin above all others have the right to the world. Lizardmen are just another form of Dragonborn to these kobolds, without many of the dragon features, though some have argued that they don't deserve it because they believe they are kin of a snake. Koraph Ignores this belief because they are too similar in features, so they couldn't possibly come from snakes.

The lizard looks at the groveling kobold, makes note of the chipper paladin, and glares at the assassin. He shakes his head.

"You three are the oddest group I have ever witnessed." He sighs, and scratches his head next to the frill that adorns it. "If you are sure that you would like to join our humble guild, go to the inn and speak with Yandro. Tell her Greeshtan sent you." He takes a coin pouch off his belt, and counts out some money. He then wraps it in a kerchief, and ties it around the neck of the krenshar that led you here. "I have a feeling that with so many of you, she will not want to board you without money, so Caex here will accompany you and provide payment. I will summon you all when I'm ready." With that, the lizardman retreats back to the shadows, followed by the other beast, leaving you in the doorway with Caex.

MEANWHILE!!!

Cyrus was attempting to play his rib cage like a xylephone. "Dammit, every other skeleton I've seen is able to do this, so why can't I!?!"

"As long as you take us straight to this inn then I have no problem following you." He moves out of the doorway so the krenshar can pass. "By all means."

The krenshar passes the trio, looking up at Silk straight in the eyes. The eyes burned with a moment of hatred, and then she turned away to escort them.

Gyrax, for her part, can't keep a straight face at the sight of her new kobold friend's fit of passion. Still, she is nothing if not appreciative of the devout, and against her better judgement, she briefly places a hand on his shoulder in the spirit of camaraderie. Looking over at the Lizardfolk, she nods at his speech and goes wide-eyed as she notices him part ways with his money. "Your generosity will be rewarded, my lord, if Gyrax has her say" she offers gallantly before joining Silk and walking off. She visibly struggles not to give the monstrousity that leads them a friendly pat on the skull.

ooc GAH! Now the internet is down at home AND at work! I am dying here!

OOC: Sorry to hear that!! Also, I'm not waiting on Koraph anymore. Koraph, I've been trying to stall to give you time to post, but you have made no attempts to let me know you'll be delayed, so we are proceeding.

Silk's wish is granted as the beast leads you directly to the inn to the side of the courtyard. In the short time that you've been in Greeshtan's house, it seems the party outside has gotten rowdier.

Upon entering the inn, you see an elderly Oni woman. On the counter before her is the remains of what could have been a toad, and she is picking at her teeth with her long nails.
