04. Traveling to Denthanus's Fort (Part 1)

Cyrus sighs and decides to toss in his two bony cents. "Look, harpy, I'm sure Silk meant no disrespect, and I understand that you and Koraph may have your differences. Silk's just, erm... trying to make sure this operation goes smoothly and, um... he, as well as myself to be honest, are worried he may jeopardize it." He placed a hand on the harpy's back as a way to console her. "All I'm saying is, it might be best to sort of take a neutral and stance and see it from two different perspectives: Silk is worried and wants to do the job right, and Koraph is just a smidge crazy. You know what I mean?"

The feline-esque animal lays down near the middle of the clearing, and puts her head on her front paws. She then proceeds to sleep for the evening.

Koraph is walking back towards where the group is. "Well, are we going to stay the night, or are we going to keep pressing on? Don't worry about me, My mind is set on succeeding, I just have a different way of achieving it than just using my talons like a beast." he shoots a dirty look at Silk."For me it's not about consistency, it's about quality, when I get in the right mind set, you will fear my power."

Gyrax cocks her head, still looking prissy. "Hey! I did not insist on keeping him. I answer for myself only. I'm saying if you don't like working with him, you can leave! And you can take anyone who would want to tag along with you, among whom, I may say, I will gladly include myself." she says, her tone softening.

Silk sneers. But the expression softens quickly. "He can stay. But I'm only giving him one last chance. If he screws up again. I'm done with him." He fades into the shadows.

Gyrax's anger has dissipated by now, and looks frankly embarrassed by her outburst, but still puts on her serious face. "Right! You do that!" Turning around, she walks past Cyrus and heads towards Koraph with a look that forebodes nothing good. Halfway there, she backpedals and gives the skeleton a sudden hug. "Thank you." she offers quickly before approaching... and looming over Koraph. "Ahem, ahem! Master Koraph, I believe you have accused me of disrespecting you?" she asks cocking her head and eyeing him sideways.

Cyrus sighs and shakes his head. "Fighting like children..." His displeasure was met with slight embarrassment as Gyrax suddenly hugged him. "Uh.... you're welcome?"

ooc Gyrax scolds. "Now lissen up! We're gonna have a nice, quiet, peaceful regicide, or I swear to Pelor we're turning this quest around and going straight back home!"

OOC: see, I'd take the lemming approach and drive it off the first cliff I came to.

Silk doesn't bother listening anymore. He reappears next to the kobold corpses and grabs one. He then guts it and prepares the meat to be roasted.

Cyrus decides that if Silk is going to cook a kobold, he would need a fire. Cyrus goes to work setting one up for the gnoll.

The krenshar, despite itself, comes over by Silk and sniffs at the carcass. Before Silk can react, she rips off an arm and runs back to the center of the clearing to naw on it.

You all can role play the rest of the scene, or we can fast forward to morning Up to you!

OOC: We can start a story post in Campaign Stories if we want to continue roleplaying. That way we can continue the game but still roleplay what happened this night. Something tells me Koraph isn't done yet.

Description of sound and Prestidigitation effect

"A strong smell of rotting corpses invades your nostrils, a sound of a knife zooming by going deep into somebody's skin, the campfire was suddenly extinguished, if you looked down in the direction of the sound to see where it came from, you would see blood covering your abdomen"

Silk sniffs the air and looks down at the blood on his armor. He didn't feel anything. And why would the smell of delicious carrion come wafting on the breeze? The lack of light was no problem for him as he could see quite well. Troubling. "Does anyone else smell that? And Cyrus build up that fire. I got blood all over myself. Yehehehe!"

OOC: I'm not sure that Insight is used to see through illusions, i think that is perception. Insight is more of reading people. If you were reading me, you would be thinking I just stabbed you. But i don't know if you can use your passive??? DM!

I now know why Evil campaigns are generally not done LOL.

First: I would say that the Prestidigitation would be a bluff check, as you are essentially trying to make what’s false appear to be true. Bluff is opposed by insight.

Koraph, your bluff is +3. So your total roll is a 14. Silk, please roll an insight check. I don't think you would just go "oh look, i've been stabbed"
